The Gift of Nothing
I can use more of this Nothing! Patrick McDonnell has created another Mooch and Earl fable with heart, bringing home the message of what we can most truly give each other in any season. A fun read-aloud for all ages (a five-minute bedtime story!), with a thoughtful, enduring core.
Curious George: Christmas Carols
I am utterly charmed. Music teachers, take note! With this 2010 release of H. A. Rey's 1944 art, Houghton Mifflin has brought Rey's bright, endearing musical scores to a new generation. Each of the ten songs from our carols canon comes to holiday life, as elements from each song stand in for the notes. Bright angels, camels, ships, holly leaves - varied in color or details to identify different note lengths. George's cheer is contagious throughout. Can't wait to read/sing this one with my students and family!
